If you seek a designer who is more than just technically orientated, but also people-oriented, then we have a good reason to meet. I am an optimist. I thrive on challenges, lead by example and readily adapt to situations. My name is Monique Guthrie, I have a Bachelors of Science in Communications Media concentrating in Graphic Design and Professional Communication. I am here to help you execute your vision.

Why should you work with me to promote your business? I am a highly motivated, diplomatic, flexible, quality-driven professional on every project. Such motivation truly took flight when I successfully managed a seven-man design team for the Fitchburg Art Museum to complete a Catalog for their exhibition Fantastical Political in 2018. I was a team leader who fostered group unity through communication to ensure a quality product with a cohesive aesthetic through fundamental themes.

I am someone who operates with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. During my semester-long internship with The Forge Theater Lab in Fitchburg I proved this skill. This drive for more attentiveness started with coming to a consensus with the board of directors to finalize the logo. I then made everything they needed for their first two seasons by communicating regularly with clients regarding design deadlines. As the logo designer and visionary behind their Brand Identity I was able to give them a jump-start and organize the elements necessary to establish themselves in Fitchburg. The Forge Theater Lab felt confident leaving the details and follow-through to me.

I have advanced technical experience with computers and other artistic mediums. I have been honing my skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign since I was enrolled at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School District in 2011. I have advanced knowledge of these programs. I also have begun creating digital art using the apps Procreate and Krita. In addition, I have used and feel very comfortable with Dreamweaver. I also have used MailChimp and Constant Contact for The Forge Theater Lab and the Fitchburg Art Museum respectively. This past year I have begun work as a muralist and painted a 5’ x 8’ outdoor mural for a project called Activate Mill Street in downtown Fitchburg.

Beyond having my degree I also have 2 years of relevant business experience under my belt, I was a Graphic Designer at the Fitchburg Art Museum (Intern Aug. 18’–Dec 18‘, Employee Jan. 19’–May 19’ ). As an undergrad, I interned and was hired as an interim employee while FAM sought a new Marketing Director. I was able to take on many of the roles of a full-time Marketing Director while still an undergrad at FSU. During this time I designed with consistency to the Museum’s visual identity across a range of print and electronic materials. As an employee, I did all of the Graphic Design from Jan. 19’–May 19’. After working at FAM for 7 months I began my internship for The Forge Theater Lab (May 19’–Sept. 19’) I crafted the identity of The Forge and piloted the start-up through their first year.

My passion lies in the fusion of art into practical design. If you want to talk design let’s chat!
